From Us at the 'zine
April Boland has commited herself to being one of our regular writers. Though her column has yet to be titled, we have faith that she will bring us some her wit, intelligence and most of you will find her insightful and funny.
Now this could be you, too. Mmm hmm. If you requested the sample copy a while back where I clowned those Flava Flav
Well, let me lay this on you. The staff here has decided to expand to ten legal size pages instead of the 4-6 we originally planned on. That way we can guarantee quality articles and compensate those who write for us whether it is one-time or ongoing. There is one feminist 'zine out there that I am a fan of because 1) they are informative and 2) have a humorous side but their articles look to be 600 to 1000+ words and they do not pay their writers (except a byline). All we ask is that you commit and give us at least 200 words. It can be a 2-3 part article or however you want to break it down but we do give you a place for a free plug. Plugs can be in the form of your biz card or just a mention of what it is you do and how other like-minded folks can get in contact with you. If you choose to write for us on a regular basis, you have a 4x6 to say whatever you gotta say and you don't have to squeeze your life story in the byline.
Not trying to twist any arms but if writing here is not for you (whether it be for now or ever), that's fine too. We hope you'll stay in touch anyway.
Peace and Margaritas
