GENEROUS: Finally, Women Comics Based on Real People
Finally, Women Comics Based on Real People
Back when I was coming up, you had Archie, Veronica, Betty and of course, Wonder Woman (who actually looked more like Lynda Carter then than now) when it came to comic books. Then somewhere along the way women comic book characters began to resemble S&M post-op trannies with an attitude (maybe not a bad thing, I guess) but they were a little scary. Well, Bluewater Productions has come out with a series called Female Force which will feature First Lady Michelle Obama, Hillary Rodham Clinton and other political figures. I don't think that this is a good idea to create such comics. People are already too overloaded by these political issues and hips of political info all over the internet (have a look at http://torrents.rapid4me.com/ search engine). Why should they be interested in this? Reply to this
I don't know how old you are but when I was coming along, comics were limited to Betty, Veronica, Little Lotta and though Wonder Woman was cool, she was hard as hell to find.
I get you on the political end and normally it's something I don't plug or endorse but it's just nice to tell little girls about variety in what women can be. Reply to this

I'm in my early 40s and yes, I do remember it was waay easier to see Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman on TV than it was to get a WW comic. I felt Little Lotta was underrated, guess because she didn't have the sexy bitch thing like Veronica. Reply to this
