To My Fellow Crafters and Artisans

Last year, I did a show with a friend.  She had done many local shows and was knowledgeable about running different trade show booths.  It wasn't a big deal but I was nervous. Nervous about spending more money than I was likely to make, nervous about how many people would show up and so on.

So I go to my neighborhood discount store and pick up a few things that I believed would work for my show.  It was very basic and thought I was doing the right thing.  Funny I run into my trade show partner and she asks why am I buying a little plastic table and white sheets.  I give her a look and she pulled me aside to show pics of previous shows on her camera.  She then talks about how having table skirts  and banner stands can bring more customer attention than something I created on my home printer.

Being that this friend was more experienced, I took her advice.  Finally, she really stressed the importance of having pipe and drape at every show.  Not only would it protect your materials from unnecessary sunlight but also creates a sense of privacy when trying to conduct business.

Her last words.  If you look cheap, you will be treated as such.  Cutting corners can hurt more than it help when it comes to business.
