Love gold, ladies? There's nothing more sexy than a pair of large, real gold hoop earrings (on a man or woman) but what I'm talking about are getting some real assets instead of fashion trends. Yes, hard economic times are forcing all of us how to make the most of the money we have. Obtaining assets is part of the road to long-term wealth. See, gold rims and toe rings can depreciate as in nobody will care five years from now but the same can't be said for gold coins as there will always be an interest.

Say if you need a loan, a financial institution will be way more interested in a gold bullion than that "grill" you got at the swap meet and probably paid good money for. And this is not kind of bullion that you cook with, either.

Look, I've got fashion faux pas that go back to flourescent orange socks but with age, I've learned how to invest in items of value. Sometimes when adding to my penny collection, I find a rare coin. I have since started a collection that includes not only a gold coin but one that dates back to1923.
