I adore summer. The sunshine, the beach, the time with family and friends. After months of cold weather and snow, I count the days until the heat of summer finally arrives.

The day the neighborhood pool opens is one of celebration. Neighborhood families all come together and spend some time relaxing and catching up together. My kids are always so excited because school is out and the time to play outside all day with their friends is here. Backyard bar-b-ques and picnics in the park are also on the calendar during these warm months. I even look forward to a few rainy summer time days that are spent inside in the air conditioning enjoying a good movie or catching a few reruns on direct tv kids channels.

This summer we have an extra special summer vacation adventure planned. We are packing up the family and a few close friends and we're hitting the road. We plan to travel for two weeks and our ultimate destination is not yet known. We will be camping out along the way, spending the nights under the stars. This has been a dream of my husbands for as long as I can remember and I am sure it will be a memorable summer vacation for us all.
